Yia Yia’s Dinner
A Greek dinner, the way Yia Yia intended.
Yia Yia. It’s the Greek word for grandmother, the one who feeds you like you haven’t eaten in days, no matter what. For one night only this August, Esther pays tribute to her with four courses, Greek wines to match and the kind of hospitality that doesn’t know when to stop.
Join chef Sean Connolly for one of Auckland Restaurant Month’s hero events, where Greek home cooking takes the spotlight. Expect a legacy of flavours, generous pours and stories served straight from the source. Our Yia Yias will be in the room, including Stella Bares QSO, a celebrated figure in New Zealand’s Greek community and a fabulous cook.
Long tables, loud laughter and plates that just keep coming. Exactly how Yia Yia likes it.
Includes:
A four-course Greek feast
A selection of Greek wines poured throughout
Long-table communal seating
Your host, chef Sean Connolly
In the room: Yia Yias Stella Bares QSO and Georgina Aspros
